Varsity Secures 3 Wins In 3 Consecutive Nights

Harrison Boys Volleyball entered this week with 3 consecutive matches. First up was Brebeuf at home on Monday. The team played strongly both on defense and offense. They took the first set with a score of 27-25. In set two, they struggled with communication and dropped the set 23-25. They went on to take the final two sets with a score of 25-19 and 25-20, and secured the win over Brebeuf. Cole Hess had 17 kills, Emerson Mohr had 14, and Trey Easley had 6. Blocking for the Raiders was Trey Easley with 6 and Dovial Lugo with 5. Libero Antonio Figueras had 19 digs. Setters Luke Baker had 21 assists, and Jackson Holajter had 17. On Tuesday, the Raiders traveled to take on McCutcheon. The Raiders started strong and took the first set 25-18, but then dropped the second set 25-12. After regrouping, the team took the third set 25-19 and the fourth set 25-21 to win the match. Hitting well for the Raiders were Cole Hess with 13 kills, Emerson Mohr with 12 kills, and Kegan Wargo with 6. Trey Easley led with 3 blocks. Antonio Figueras was busy as libero with 24 digs, while Cole Hess had 15 digs. Assist leader was Luke Baker with 21 and Jackson Holajter had 17. Cole Hess and Emerson Mohr both had aggressive serves that resulted in 5 aces for Cole Hess and 3 aces for Emerson Mohr. Finally, last night the Raiders traveled to Tri-West. Due to injuries, the Raiders had to run a new lineup. The players stepped up in a big way and swept Tri-West with scores of 25-21, 25-22, and 25-12. Emerson Mohr led with 13 kills, while Kegan Wargo had 6. Kaleb Patton and Kegan Wargo each had 4 blocks. Luke Baker led the assists with a total of 16. Emerson Mohr and Antonio Figueras served well, each having 4 aces on the night. Two athletes had their Varsity debut and played well. Middle Hitter Owen McKinney had 4 kills and 4 blocks. Owen Arms played opposite and had 3 kills on 4 attacks. The Raiders will be back in the gym on Saturday at home as they will host a varsity tournament. The first match starts at 10 a.m. against Plainfield.
