The Harrison boys cross country team delivered a dominant performance Saturday, October 17, at the Tippecanoe Amphitheater, winning the IHSAA Sectional championship with just 26 points and advancing to the regional meet. The Raiders placed five runners in the top 12 to secure the title, finishing 40 points ahead of runner-up West Lafayette, which scored 66 points. Harrison's winning team posted an impressive average time of 16:14.60. Junior Jacob Tilton led the Raiders with a second-place finish in 15:52, followed closely by junior Logan Breon in third at 15:58. Senior Jango Lane finished fourth in 16:20, while junior Morgan Weathers placed fifth in 16:21. Sophomore Ryan Jordan completed the scoring lineup with a 12th-place finish in 16:42. Harrison's depth was on display throughout the race. Junior Stewart Page finished 15th in 16:54, while freshman Alexander Burgess placed 24th in 17:16. The sectional championship continues an outstanding year for the Raiders, who also swept the varsity and JV team titles at the Sagamore Conference meet. Harrison has built its success on a combination of front-running talent, depth and consistent improvement, including a strong showing at the highly competitive Nike XC Town Twilight Invitational earlier this month. With the sectional title secured, Harrison now turns its attention to the regional meet on Saturday, October 24. The Raiders will look to carry their momentum into the next round as they pursue a berth in the IHSAA State Finals for the third time in school history.
