The Harrison boys cross country team delivered another strong postseason performance Saturday, October 24, finishing third at the IHSAA Brownsburg Regional with 130 points to earn a trip to the State Finals. The Raiders finished behind Carmel (45 points) and Brownsburg (78) in a highly competitive field, securing one of the five team qualifying spots for the state meet. Harrison entered the regional coming off a dominant sectional championship the previous week, when the Raiders scored just 26 points and defeated runner-up West Lafayette by 40 points. The regional provided another opportunity for Harrison to compete against some of the top teams in the state, and the Raiders responded by placing third overall and advancing to the next round. Senior Jonathan King led Harrison with an outstanding 14th-place finish in 15:38.8, putting him among the top individual runners in the field. Junior Jacob Tilton followed in 21st place with a time of 15:46.0, while junior Logan Breon finished 25th in 15:54.0. Senior Jango Lane completed the next scoring position in 29th place at 15:56.9. Junior Morgen Weathers rounded out the team's top five with a time of 16:19.7 in 54th place. Ryan Jordan was 75th with 16:35.40 and Stewart Page finished the team off at 139th with a time of 17:27.40. The Raiders' performance demonstrated the depth that has helped fuel their success throughout the season. Harrison has consistently competed against strong competition, including a challenging field at the Nike XC Town Twilight Invitational, and swept both the varsity and JV team championships at the Sagamore Conference meet earlier in October. With the regional finish, Harrison now turns its attention to the IHSAA State Finals on Saturday, October 31, at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute. The Raiders will have the opportunity to cap an outstanding season by competing among Indiana's best teams on the state's biggest stage. After capturing the sectional title and earning a third-place regional finish, Harrison has established itself as one of the state's strongest teams. The Raiders will look to carry that momentum into the State Finals and finish their season with another memorable performance.
